Moving right along...

Over the last week and a half, all the walls and roof framing is almost complete. They are wrapping the house and the sheeting is also almost complete.

We are in the picking stage of faucets, bathtubs, toilets and sinks...it is soooooooooo stressful. There are only a bazillion to choose from and when I pick one, it doesn't have all the components for the entire bathroom so, it's back to another choice. What to do...chrome, oil rubbed bronze or brushed nickel...what to do...what to do... Anyway, it'll come together, I'm sure.

Stay tuned...

Everything is moving right along. I'm sure they'll slow down eventually but for now, lots of changes everyday. These were taken yesterday and at the end of today. Rooms are starting to take shape and you can really picture how it is...I'm excited!!!

We are on our way. We got up around 5:45am and the pump truck was sitting at the drive waiting on the concrete trucks, which arrived shortly after. They came in rounds of two but very quickly. 11 guys knocked fire from it for about 3 hours and they were done!!! 3 guys stayed around til about 2:30pm doing the "finishing" work and here it is. YEAH!!! The framer will be out tomorrow to discuss last minute details and changes and have the lumber delivered and they are suppose to start the framing on Thursday. Concrete guy says they will have cleanup tomorrow...maybe he'll have better luck in the trash pickup department than I did...lol Anyway, I hope this fast pace continues...!

Everything went so fast and smooth. Even when Rowdy, my cousins dog, jumped up into the concrete they had already smoothed out and floated...TWICE...lol

Disregard the date on the first 3 pics. I don't know what the heck my camera was doing this morning cuz I sure knew it was 6am!!! Dang!!!

Well, hopefully, I'll have more on Thursday to share.

After what can only be described as one "what the hell" moment after another, we have finally broke ground on the house. Of course, they started while we were in Colorado, so we missed the actual ground breaking but that's okay - just so long as SOMETHING is finally happening. They have framed up the slab, bagged it and put base in. The rebar (sp?) has been delivered and they are tying that in tomorrow. The slab is slated to be poured at 6am Tuesday morning. Exciting, exciting!!!

On the flip side of all the excitement, it has become apparent that our little worker bees are trash producers. And beings that I don't speak Mexi-dumbass, I can't communicate that the trash should be put in the TRASH CAN PROVIDED ON THE SITE. Even going around picking it up and pointing to it and then pointing to the trash can and dropping it in has really not seemed to sink in. It's only been four days so maybe they're "slow learners"...bad combo with me being "quick tempered"...we'll see how it goes. I really shouldn't complain...they work rain or shine and this week has mostly been rain, so, yeah, I'm gonna shut up for now on the trash...just keep working...just keep working...just keep working...lol

More to come later...pix too...
